Ohana June Newsletter
Word: Excellence
Color: Gold
Congratulations to all our Ohana Martial Arts students who graduated high school! We know all our students are now enjoying the beginning of summer vacation but please DO NOT sit around watching TV or play video games all day. Make sure to keep up with your training goals and stay active. We know many of you joined martial arts for confidence (being bullied at school), self-defense, fitness, health and the many skills of being a martial arts student. We have many of our students who joined the Black Belt Club and do tournament training to become Hawaiian and USA champions. We have consistently been the #1 school in Hawaii at the Annual Hawaiian Martial Arts Championships. We have a proud tradition of producing USA National Karate champions as well.
You may notice we are no longer offering the 3:15pm classes on Tues, Wed, & Thurs. This was only an extra class during the COVID restrictions. We feel it is safe to move the 3:15pm class to the 4pm class as we had before.
Striping: June 22nd, 23rd, 24th. Please try not to miss striping as it will go towards students who qualify for testing.
Belt Testing: June 25th. Testing Times will be announced soon. We are in the process of evaluating students for belt testing. Please be patient with us. We will notify students and parents for those who make the testing list. As usual, the 1st three requirements are totally in your control.
The 3 requirements are:
- Attendance (please make up any missed classes if you were out sick or away)
- Forms: you MUST know belt level forms
- Respect & Discipline: very important that you have the attitude to try your best!
